Tutorial 1: Rename and recolor a clip
Goal: Right-click a MIDI clip in Live and stamp a new name and color in one undo step.
Prerequisites: Getting Started complete; a Set with at least one MIDI clip.
Time: ~10 minutes
You will use: Template Clip Stamp (rename & recolor)
Steps
- Open Patchwright.
- Click Templates and choose Rename and recolor clip (or Clip Stamp).
- Set Extension name to
Clip Stampand Author to your name. - Click Build & Run and wait for Connected to Live.
- Switch to Ableton Live.
- Right-click a MIDI clip → Extensions → Clip Stamp: On MIDI Clip (label may match your extension name).
- In Live, press Cmd+Z once — both name and color should undo together.
Expected results
